THE WANDER MUSE

Editorial Policy

The Wander Muse standards for research, pricing, sourcing, corrections, and commercial independence.

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Original, reader-first content

Every guide is structured and written for The Wander Muse. We focus on questions that materially affect a trip rather than reproducing destination marketing copy.

Source hierarchy

We prioritize official government, park, tourism, transit, and attraction sources. Reputable secondary references may add context, but important planning claims should be traceable to primary information wherever possible. Source links appear in each article.

Prices and currency conversions

Prices are planning estimates, not quotations. We show local currency alongside rounded U.S. dollar equivalents and identify the month of review. Readers should verify the final price, taxes, inclusions, and exchange rate before booking.

Safety and inclusive travel

Safety guidance is written with practical concerns in mind, including those frequently raised by women traveling independently. We avoid promising that a place is universally “safe” and encourage readers to consult current official advisories.

Updates and corrections

Travel information changes quickly. Articles display their review timing and encourage a final official check. Material factual errors are corrected as soon as reasonably possible, with priority given to details that affect access, cost, or safety.

Commercial independence

Advertising and future affiliate relationships are kept separate from editorial judgment. Payment cannot buy an undisclosed favorable recommendation. Sponsored content, if introduced, will be clearly labeled.

Use of photography

Destination images must be relevant to the place and licensed for the intended use. Source, creator information when available, and license details are preserved in the Media Library and displayed with galleries.
